Johnston, Nellie Campbell Rose

Nellie G. Campbell Rose Johnston, age 69, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2018, at her home in Cashmere, WV. Born December 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clyde K. and Estelle V. A. L. Campbell.

Nellie was a loving mother, sister, grandmaw, aunt, wife, and friend. She wore her heart on her sleeve and was someone everyone could count on. She put everyone before herself. She was one of a kind and a woman everyone loved deeply. She will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest S. Rose; two step sons, Edwin “Eddie” and Jerry Rose; and one brother, Wayne Campbell.

Survivors include her loving husband, Curtis Odell Johnston of Cashmere; three sisters, Wanda C. Burch of Clarkton, NC, Shirley Campbell White and husband Emery of Elizabethtown, NC, and Emma Jean Blattenberger of Lackawanna, NY; one brother, Ronnie Campbell and wife Lynn of Woodbridge, VA; four daughters, Brenda Perkins of Pearisburg, VA, Debbie Casad of Washington state, and Alicia and Alexis Rose of Narrows, VA; one son, Blaine Rose of Cashmere, WV; one step-daughter, Danyell Neely of Pembroke, VA; two step-sons, Bryne Johnston of Dublin, VA, and Doug Johnston and wife Candace of Christiansburg, VA; special niece, Rejeana Campbell Nelson and husband Robert of Danville, VA; loving dear friend, Evelyn Bailey of Peterstown, WV; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV.
