Thornhill, Eleanor St.Clair

Eleanor St.Clair Thornhill, 85, of Christiansburg, Va., died on Monday, June 14, 2010, at Heritage Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Bane, Va., on July 20, 1924, to the late Charles and Minnie Stafford St.Clair. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Thornhill; and her sister, Katherine S. Robertson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte T. and Carl Gellis, of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Michael David Gellis and wife, Cynthia, of Long Beach, Calif., and Catherine Rebecca Gellis, of Blacksburg; three sisters, Louise Goetz, of Portsmouth, R.I., Ruth Robertson, and Mary Day, both of Pearisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Resource Center of NRV, P.O. Box 477, Radford, Va. 24143 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kan. 66675-8516. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
