Rebert, Sandra Conley

Sandra Conley Rebert, 68, of Taylors, SC, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Paul and Mary Juanita Conner Conley, both of Rocky Gap, Virginia.

A proud graduate of Radford University in Radford, Virginia with a degree in Home Economics and Education, Sandra spent her early adulthood teaching home economics in Giles County, Virginia. She continued teaching until the arrival of the first of her three daughters. From that point forward, she dedicated herself to her children, their education, and well-being.

She could often be found enjoying her hobbies through her children’s activities including sewing elaborate costumes for school plays and Halloween, expanding her love of cooking by learning unique cuisines for school projects and reading an entire library while her girls were at piano lessons, field hockey practice and drama rehearsals. In addition to sewing, crafting, cooking, and reading, Sandra enjoyed spending her time with friends and family.

She was an amazing friend and adored by her children and grandchildren and beloved by all who knew her. She could make anybody laugh with her wry wit. Throughout her adult life, Sandra had the joy of living in Virginia, Georgia, California, Connecticut and South Carolina.

Sandra is survived by her three daughters, Jessica Rebert Shabel of Taylors, SC, Amy Rebert Gordon of Loomis, CA and Emily Rebert Hungate of Kingston Springs, TN; seven grandchildren, Delaney and Logan Shabel, Emma and Sophie Hungate, Caroline, Katherine and Matthew Gordon. She was predeceased by a brother, Donnie Ray Conley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 27, 2018 at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, VA. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 28, 2018 at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in her honor to the PKD Foundation (pkdcure.org) to fund the research to find treatments and a cure to Polycystic Kidney Disease. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
