Macie Ruth Davis Griffith, 95, passed away peacefully at Radford Health and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. She led a very full life and was known for her enthusiasm, spirit, and strong will.

Macie was born in Bland County and grew up in Bland and Giles counties. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Green Griffith; and her brothers, Hubert and Wayne Davis of Ripplemead, Charlie Davis of Danville; and her sister, Margaret Dudley of Danville. She is survived by her daughter, Fern Martin and her husband Don of San Jose, Calif.; her sons, Roger Griffith and his wife Barbara of Radford, Bill Griffith and his wife Debbie of Dublin, and Tim Griffith and his wife Jeannie of Christiansburg; her sisters, Irene Blevins of Clinton, Tenn. and Doris Davis of Ripplemead; her sister-in-law, Johanna Davis of Danville; her six grandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren.

In Macie’s early years, she was an employee of Celanese in Narrows, Va. Later, she was a devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers as well as her many indoor plants. She was an excellent cook, sharing her skills and beloved recipes with family and friends. She enjoyed the friendship of many in her Radford neighborhood through her Avon cosmetics work.

The family will receive friends at DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford on Friday March 2, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Gale Janofski officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is in charge of arrangements.
