Caldwell, Frank Yingling Jr.

Frank Yingling Caldwell, Jr., 78, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and formerly of Radford, Va., died on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at his home.

Born May 3, 1928 in Radford, he was the son of the late Frank Yingling and Pauline Virginia Perfater Caldwell. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a graduate of Radford High School, Radford and Richmond Professional Institute, Richmond, Va. He served with the US Army and was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. Mr. Caldwell was a retired design specialist with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

He is survived by two brothers, William Perfater Caldwell and his wife, Jo Anna, Roanoke, Va. and Robert Milton Caldwell and his wife, Polly, Radford; three nephews, two nieces and several great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with the Rev. Robert S. Osborne officiating. Interment will be at noon on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Caldwell Family Cemetery, East Radford, Va. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
