Griggs, Martha Ann
Martha Ann Griggs, 70, of N. Main Street in Pearisburg, departed this life Tuesday evening, November 28, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. She was born in Pembroke on July 16, 1947. Martha was employed for twenty years in the housekeeping department at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Estelle Conley, her son Larry Wayne Conley, and her brother James A “Pete” Conley.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of over fifty-one years, Daniel Lee Griggs; her sons and daughters-in-law Lee and Lynne Griggs of Pembroke, Jimmy and Tina Griggs of Pembroke, Steve and Bobbie Griggs of Pembroke; her grandchildren Wes Griggs, Jim Griggs, Ashley Reed, Kareen Cooper, Jamie Griggs, Arlene Griggs, and Aimee Hyler; her great- grandchildren Caleb Reed, Holly Reed, Peyton Griggs, Paisley Griggs, Melody Faye St.Clair, Scarlet Conley, Caleb Hyler, Adaline Conley, and Kane Cooper.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm. I’m sorry for your lost I have known her and her husband for years.
You could not have asked for better people. They both were very hard workers! They would help you out with anything that they could. I know that my parents spoke very highly of them and they live in the house we use to live. I will be praying for her family and may God Bless you all during this time of sorrow!
