Martin, Grover Lawrence

Grover Lawrence Martin, 75 of Willis, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Grover was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

He worked first in a furniture factory, then in a garment factory, on to the Powder Plant and then Virginia Highway department. The last 20 years Grover was a long distance driver for Overnite and then UPS. He loved to farm and was an excellent carpenter. He loved to be outside in God’s wonderful world. He loved God first always. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dock Lawrence and Ella Mae Smith Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackelene Q. Martin; son, Adrian Lawrence Martin; daughter, Lisa Lafon Barlow; grandchildren, Gracella Dawn Martin, Jesse Martin Barlow; step grandchildren. Bobby Caposio, Timmy Caposio; brother, Maynard Martin; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Nester (Marvin), Bertha Marshall Baldwin; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Gregory Poff officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home prior to the service.
