Elliott Sr., Norman Sherwood

Norman Sherwood Elliott Sr., 69, of Prices Fork, was taken home to heaven Friday, March 19, 2010, at Montgomery Regional Hospital after a long battle with COPD. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on June 30, 1940 to the late Basil L. and Clara Graham Elliott and also a brother, Duane Elliott and two nephews, Wayne Shephard and Preston Elliott. He is survived by his three loving and caring sons, Norman Sherwood Elliott, Jr. of McCoy, August Bryant Elliott and Stuart Lynn Elliott, both of Blacksburg; sister and brother-in-law, Greta and Jerry Shephard of Christiansburg; sister-in-law, Phyllis Elliott of Prices Fork; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Cindy Elliott of Prices Fork; grandchildren, Brooke Elliott, Cassidy Elliott, Matthew Elliott, Katy Wiekel; special friends and care givers, Danny Lee Elliott, Bobby Sheppard, Dean Neighbors; nephews and nieces, Joey Shephard, Robin Moses, Scott Elliott, Barry Elliott. The family will like to give a special thanks to Dr. John White and Montgomery Regional Hospital 2nd floor nurses and staff for their very special loving care. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Elliott Family Cemetery, Prices Fork with the Rev. Dan Lambert officiating. Friends may call any time after 12 noon Sunday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
