Adams, Lonnie Joe

Lonnie Joe Adams, 78, formerly of Dublin, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017. He was a general contractor in the New River Valley for 40 years and was active in the Pulaski County Lord’s Acre for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clinton Adams and Cleatice Adams McGranahan; sister, Wanda Shoemaker. Survivors include his son, Tracy Hall Adams of California; sister, Loretta Harp of Oklahoma City, Okla.; former wife, friend and caregiver, Janice C. Adams of Salem; stepson and wife, Jody and Melissa Akers; grandchildren, Karah Akers and Hunter Akers; great-granddaughter, Mia Dean, all of Newbern; nephew, Russell Maxey of Roanoke and many other nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be private. Mr. Adams is entrusted to Valley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1609 Peters Creek Rd NW, Roanoke, Virginia.
