Hall, Edith Holliday
Edith Holliday Hall, 88, of Pulaski and formerly of Pulaski Village, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 in the Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 28, 1918 in Wythe County, she was the daughter of the late Clara Ann Jones Holliday and Morris Stanley Holliday. She was a charter member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was an employee of the former Pulaski General Hospital and the Pulaski Community Hospital for 19 years, and was known for her kindness and her love for her patients. She said that nursing was her calling in life and devoted her life to caring for others, even after her retirement.
She loved her children, and they have come to understand in a greater way the sacrifices she made so they could have the best she could possibly give. The lessons and values she gave will always be treasured, because she imparted them not only through words, but through actions as well. Her family will always be most grateful for the Godly quality she was faithful to express to them through the years.
Through all of her trials and illnesses, not once did her faith in God waiver. She loved her Lord and was quick to tell you of His love. She will be sadly missed by her family and everyone’s life that she touched.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Raymond Clinton Hall; a beloved granddaughter, Heather Michelle Edens; and seven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Hall Mitchell and her husband, Mitch of Pulaski; three sons, Ralph C. Hall and his wife, Hilda of Columbia, S.C., Bobby G. Hall and his wife, Linda of Midlothian, and Kenneth J. Hall and his wife, Barbara of Christiansburg. Also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Family Worship Center with Dr. C.R. Conner and the Rev. Randle V. Cregger officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be anytime Wednesday after 4 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m., or during other times at the home of Ellen Mitchell, 2691 Draper Ridge Rd., Draper.
