Blankenship, Brenda Haldren

amem_creekfall.jpgBrenda Joyce Haldren Blankenship, 59, of Pearisburg passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at her home. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on January 28, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Arvin Albert and Vada Meadows Haldren. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Lee Haldren.

Joyce was employed at Virginia Tech, where she worked in housekeeping. She was a good person, a great friend and a hard worker. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and co-workers.

She is survived by her children, Wanda Gray and husband, Charles of Blacksburg, Jimmy Terry and wife, Hope of Loranger, Louisiana, Michael Terry and wife, Kristina of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Jessica and Amber Gray of Blacksburg, Ashley, Katie, Samuel Terry of Loranger, Louisiana and Kennedy Terry of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; three brothers, Bill Haldren and wife, Marlena of Oaks, Pennsylvania, Lewis Haldren and wife, Sandie of Rich Creek, Ed Haldren and wife, Hope; and a niece, Diana Haldren, all of Royersford, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Reginald Tuck officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek.
