Lefler, James C.

James C. Lefler, age 71 of Pulaski County, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Radford Health and Rehabilitation Center following several months of illness. He was born on October 3, 1946 in Marion, VA, and was the son of the late Frances Pennington Lefler and Richard M. Lefler. Mr. Lefler came to Pulaski County at the age of eight, and made this his residence for the remainder of his life. He was active in the Special Olympics and enjoyed participating in several sports where he was awarded numerous medals and ribbons. He is survived by his sister, Carol Sue Lefler Black, nephews, Andy Black and Timothy Black. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 201 Harvey Street Radford, VA. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. in West End Cemetery, Wytheville, VA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial donations be made to Christ Lutheran Church 201 Harvey Street Radford, VA 24141.
