Costigan, Betty Akers

Betty Akers Costigan, 67, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. She was born on December 21, 1942, to the late Dewey and Louise Akers.

She is survived by her husband, James Howell Costigan; children, Anthony James Costigan and wife, Phyllis, Jeffrey Scott Costigan and wife, Tammy, Michelle Leigh Costigan and fiancé, Noah Pendleton; grandchildren, Tyler Scott Costigan and Trista Scarlett Costigan; brother, Charles William Akers and wife, Maria, of Vinton, Va.; sisters, Barbara Clowers and husband, Richard, of Richmond, Va., Rebecca Wilbourn and husband, Mike, of Newport, Va., Sandra Chinault and husband, Donnie, of Indian Valley, Va.; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Huffaker officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, Va.
