Wolfe, Kenneth B.
Kenneth B. Wolfe, 90, of Blacksburg, died peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his home in Warm Hearth Village. Born in Sayre, Pa., in 1926, Ken joined the United States Navy and Navy Reserves while still in high school after getting his parents to lie about his age. Ken was a World War II Vet, with active duty from ’43-’46, after which he finished high school and then continued his formal education with both a BA from Lycoming College and an MED from the University of Rochester, NY. He was VP of three NY Stock Exchange companies, a member of the American Arbitration Association Labor Panel, and he served as an arbitrator and as a mediator. Ken was a lifetime member of the Elks and a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. For a time after his retirement, he worked with the Greenwich Association of Retarded Citizens. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. Ken was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Powers Wolfe, and a son, Eric Powers Wolfe, and is survived by his wife, Judith Potter Wolfe of Blacksburg, Va.; his eldest son, Kenneth B. Wolfe, Jr. and wife, Ann Marie of Kenilworth, Ill.; daughter, Karen Wolfe Knott and husband Keith of Germanton, N.C.; daughter, Kathryn Wolfe McGee and husband, Joseph of Edgewood, Ky.; son, Kurt Wolfe of King, N.C.; daughter, Kirstin Wolfe Tran and husband, Son of Alpharetta, Ga.; stepdaughter, Julianne O’Dwyer of Reston, Va.; stepson, Stephen O’Dywer and wife, Robin of Strafford, Vt.; stepson, Colin O’Dwyer and wife, Judy of Westwood, Mass.; and nine grandchildren from both marriages. The family will gather for a celebration of his life at a future date.
