Agee, Andrew C.

Andrew C. Agee, 88, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Mr. Agee retired after 45 years of service with Burlington Industries.

He was an avid wood worker who never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Agee Kitts; brothers, Roy and Roscoe Agee; and sisters, Ruie Poff and Zora Adams.Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Gladys W. Agee; daughters, Carolyn Agee Perdue, of Roanoke, Linda Agee Dickerson and husband, Roy, of Dublin, and Dianne Agee Kelley and husband, Bob, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Penny Britt, Lucas Duncan, Jimmy Kitts, Brian Kitts, Scot Duncan, Toby Duncan, Seth and John Kelley, and Ro Dickerson; 13 greatgrandchildren; brother, Floyd Agee Jr., of Bent Mountain; sisters, Ora Guthrie, Ruby Dyer, and Doris Hawley, all of Roanoke, and Frances Lewis and Madeline Bonham, both of North Carolina; and son-inlaw, Gary Kitts, of Christiansburg.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Head of the River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Larry Hollandsworth and Elder Carl Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Restvale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, 540-366-0707.
