Groseclose, Lila McCall

Mrs. Lila McCall (Dodie) Groseclose, 79, a resident of Harrisonburg, Va., passed away on Friday morning, February 5, 2010, at Pulaski Community Hospital. A daughter of the late Grover C. McCall Sr. and Minnie Alice Cox McCall, she was born on January 23, 1931, in Pulaski, Va. She graduated from Pulaski High School and attended Lynchburg College. Mrs. Groseclose was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed bridge, golf and reading and was a member of the Massanutten Presbyterian Church. On May 30, 1953, she married William H. “Bill” Groseclose, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2003. Surviving are two sons, William H. Groseclose III and his wife, Sabrena S., of Bridgewater, and Mark M. Groseclose, of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Samuel K., Sarah Marie and Whitney A. Groseclose; one brother, Grover C. McCall Jr., of Nashville, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Opal M. Newland, Bonnie McCall, Mildred M. Carper, Nellie M. Lacey, and Betty M. French; and one brother, Bruce B. McCall. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon, February 12, 2010, at the Massanutten Presbyterian Church with Pastor John Leggett officiating. Private burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Thursday evening, February 11, 2010, at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.
