Davis, William Bruce

William (Bill) Bruce Davis, 76, of Pulaski, Va., died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born April 14, 1930 in Wytheville, Va., he is the son of Ella Sturdivant Davis and the late Henry B. Davis. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gardner.

He was a veteran of the US Army and the US Air Force having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Tower of Refuge Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dublin, a life member of V.F.W. Post 1184 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by a son, Raymond William Davis of Mountain Home, Ark.; two daughters, Julie Ella Davis of Chicago and Rita Udelhoven of Platteville, Wis.; a brother, Robert (Bob) Davis of Dublin; a sister, Jean Ceola of Fincastle, Va.; his mother, Mrs. Ella Sturdivant Davis of Dublin. Also survived by two granddaughters, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday July 1, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with Pastor Cecil Albano officiating. The V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military graveside honors. The family will receive friends at Bill’s brother’s home at 5061 Southern Drive, Dublin on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m.
