Allen, Edison

Edison Allen, age 100, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Franklin County, VA on October 7, 1915 to the late William and Julia Martin Allen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Alls Allen; a son, Thomas Edison Allen; four brothers and four sisters.

He was a veteran of WW II having served in the United States Navy. He was a longtime member of New Hope Church of God.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Judy Allen, Christiansburg, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bill Paschal, Kingsport, TN., six grandchildren. thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Friday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
