Shepherd, Giles Edward

Giles Edward (Eddie) Shepherd, 66, of Tobaccoville, North Carolina, formerly of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10th, 2017.

He was born on December 12th, 1950, and was the son of the late James Wesley and Jocell (Jody) Shepherd. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Shepherd (Bobbie) Martin.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Eddie’s love of trucking gave him friends all over the United States. His Peterbuilt, all decked out with lights, could be seen before heard.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Heida Martin Shepherd of Tobaccoville, North Carolina; two sons, Roger Shepherd and wife Fawn of Narrows, and Michael Johnston of Tobaccoville; two daughters, Sherry Davis of Christiansburg and April Johnston of Tobaccoville; six grandchildren, Landon Shepherd, Kaydance Shepherd, Kennedy Shepherd, Addison Shepherd, Misty Albert, and Michael Fleeman; five great-grandchildren, Autumn Bowles, Shianne Lucas, Michael Dale Fleeman, Madyson Fleeman, and Makade Fleeman; a brother, Jerry Shepherd and wife Patty of Maryville, Tennessee; eight grand fur babies who loved their Paw-Paw; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of special friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14th, 2017 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
