Whisman, Lillian Hassen
Lillian Hassen Whisman, 84, of Narrows, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at her home. She was born in Ronceverte, West Virginia on April 23, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Sam and Anna Holliday Hassen and a sister, Issy Boggs, also preceded her in death.
She was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Narrows.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, James Harvey Whisman, of Narrows; two sons, Jim Whisman, of Roanoke and David Whisman, of Dandridge, Tennessee; a grandson, Jeffrey Whisman ,of Beckley, West Virginia; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Hassen, of Chester, Virginia and Steven Hassen, of Max Meadows, Virginia; a sister, Sandra Wright, of Chester; and several nieces and nephews.
At Lillian’s request, burial will be private, and that there will be no viewing or visitation.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the Salvation Army or to First Baptist Church in Narrows.
