Williams, Nora Christine

Nora Christine Williams, 89, of Rich Creek, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA.

She was born on April 12, 1927, in Rich Creek, VA, and was the daughter of Lacy and Lucy C. Hale Cawley. Christine worked in the food industry as a cook for Riverview Restaurant, Dairy Queen, and Central Restaurant. She also worked at Celanese and enjoyed caring for children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Williams, and brother, William Clifford Cawley. Survivors include one son, Richard Lee “Ricky” Williams, Jr.; three grandchildren, Michelle Nothnagel, Rob Williams, and Tia Williams; six great grandchildren, Truman Morris, Trenton Morris, Austin Williams, Lucas Carpenter, Isabella Staubs, and Ezra Staubs.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2017, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV, with Rev. Betsy Switzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rich Creek, VA. Friends may call from 12:30 to time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
