Sublett, Joe Michael

Joe Michael Sublett, 57, of Newport passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017.

Mr. Sublett served in the United States Marine Corps 1978 to 1981 and inactive reservers 1981-84 with an honorable discharged as Lance Corporal. While serving he received honors of good conduct, sea service, rifle expert and certificate of commendation.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Joe and Erma Sublett. He is survived by sisters, Brenda Padilla, Connie Gilreath, Judy Lane, Sonja Switzer and Sue Bostic; eight nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Level Green Christian Church. Interment will be in Ross Cemetery with Military Honors at graveside. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Simmonsville VFD or Hunters for the Hungry. Flowers handled by Best Wishes in Blacksburg, Va
